چکیده
3 Early communication and cognition in children with Down's syndrome The focus of our research has been on the relationship between communication and other cognitive abilities in children with Down’s syndrome. The aim has been to gain a better understanding of the early stages of language acquisition with these children. There is still considerable discussion about the way that language is acquired and these theoretical discussions do have a bearing on the approach that should be taken in designing language intervention programmes.
